    Prednisolone ophthalmic ointment

This medication is used to treat conditions involving swelling (inflammation) of the eyes and to treat or prevent bacterial eye infections. This product contains gentamicin, an antibiotic that works by stopping the growth of bacteria. It also contains prednisolone, an anti-inflammatory corticosteroid that works by reducing swelling. This medication treats/prevents only bacterial eye infections. It will not work for other types of eye infections and may worsen them (e.g., infections caused by viruses, fungi, mycobacteria). Unnecessary use or overuse of any antibiotic can lead to its decreased effectiveness. This medication is applied to the eye(s), usually 1 to 3 times a day or as directed by your doctor. Restoril (temazepam) is in a class of drugs called benzodiazepines, which are central-nervous-system depressants and controlled substances. Restoril is typically prescribed as a short-term sleeping aid to treat insomnia for no more than 10 days and it works by slowing activity in your brain. When it's combined with other depressants or alcohol or taken in large dosages, Restoril can cause a loss of consciousness and respiratory failure, so it's important to know how long it remains in your system to avoid negative drug interactions. The amount of time a benzodiazepine remains in your system depends partly on what type it is—ultra-short, short, intermediate, or long-acting. Ultra-short benzos have a half-life of fewer than five hours, while short- to intermediate-acting benzodiazepines have a half-life from five to 24 hours. Long-acting benzos have a half-life exceeding 24 hours. A half-life means that half the drug has been eliminated from your system and it takes five to seven half-lives to clear out 98 percent of a drug dose. The benefits of tamoxifen as primary prevention of breast cancer are well established. The good news is that the benefits live on, with a protective effect that extends up to 22 years. At a median follow-up of 16 years, women treated with 5 years of tamoxifen enjoyed a 29% reduction in the risk of developing any type of breast cancer and a 35% reduction in the risk of developing estrogen receptor–positive breast cancer compared with placebo-treated controls. These positive results of the large International Breast Cancer Intervention Study (IBIS-I) were presented at the 2014 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium and published online simultaneously in “Tamoxifen is a well-established and effective treatment for certain breast cancers, but now we have evidence of its very long-term preventive benefits in women at risk for breast cancer. The preventive effect of tamoxifen is highly significant, with a reduction in breast cancer rates of around one-third, and this impact has remained strong and unabated for 20 years. We hope these results will stimulate more women, particularly younger women, to consider treatment options for breast cancer prevention if they have a family history of the disease or other risk factors,” stated lead author Jack Cuzick, Ph D, of Centre for Cancer Prevention, Wolfson Institute of Preventive Medicine, Queen Mary University London, United Kingdom.
